Sunset Birding

Join the LRCA for an evening birding experience at Mission Island Marsh Conservation Area, and see the Sleeping Giant at Sunset! Be sure to download the eBird and Merlin Bird ID apps prior to the event. We will have a limited number of binoculars for you to borrow during the event.

Note that there WILL be transportation to Mission Island Marsh Conservation Area provided! If you would like to ride with us, meet at the Agora Circle at Lakehead University. The bus will be leaving at 5:45 p.m. SHARP. After the event, the bus will drop participants off back at Lakehead University. Please indicate if you would prefer to take your own vehicle, so we know how many people to expect on the bus. If you are taking your own vehicle, please meet the group at Mission Island Marsh Conservation Area.

Some other items to consider when planning on attending a Watershed Explorers Program:

• Dress appropriately for the weather
• Wear appropriate footwear
• Bring a hat
• Bring bug spray
• Bring sunscreen
• Bring water and a snack
• Programs run rain-or-shine (unless torrential downpour, thunder and lightning and/or unsafe winds)
• No dogs allowed on guided hikes
• Please remember that the expert guides we have arranged for these programs are volunteering their time and expertise. We are greatly appreciative of their commitment to sharing their knowledge with us.
