Take Them Outside!

Through guided hikes, games, challenges, and times of free exploration, students can apply content learned in class to the living world, connect with their local watershed, and develop a sense of their place in it.

Many of our programs can be presented right in your classroom, school yard or nearby city park! Save the bussing costs, and have us come to you.

With interactive presentations showcasing our local environment, and opportunities for hands-on experiential learning, get ready for some fun!

Please note: in-class programs are intended for one class only, to allow for hands on learning. We would be happy to offer the same program to multiple classes in your school, each at a different time on the same day!

*The LRCA will send an invoice to the booking educational institution upon completion of the program to ensure the most accurate pricing. Pre-payment may be required in some instances.

**If more than FIVE classes are booked for the same Virtual Pre-Recorded Program, the rate drops to $30.00 per class, up to 25 classes; bookings must occur at the same time to qualify for discount.

Authorization

By submitting this form, you are confirming that you have authorization to do so on behalf of the school listed above. By taking part in an LRCA-hosted program, the school stated above will assume all risk and liability for such program.

Cancellation

Cancellations within one week of the scheduled program are subject to 50% of the program fee unless substituted with another class. Cancellations due to inclement weather are at the discretion of the teacher and will be rescheduled as availability permits

Photos

LRCA staff may take photos during the program, for potential use in LRCA annual reports, on the LRCA website, and/or possibly on social media. Please ensure that LRCA staff are made aware of any children who are unable to be photographed.

Transportation

Teachers are responsible for booking transportation to and from the field trip location (including associated costs). Buses must stay on-site for the duration of the program.

Chaperones

Teachers are responsible for securing adequate parent volunteers and additional teachers as necessary, in order to provide adequate classroom management and chaperone duties.

Cancellation

Please note that the program may need to be cancelled in the event that LRCA staff develop symptoms of COVID-19 or if they become ill. Every effort will be made to reschedule the program on a mutually agreed upon date and time if possible.

Please Note:

Our Education department is one person! Your class will have the best learning experience if the number of students at a program is less than 30.

However, we understand that bus sharing is a cost-efficient way to bring out-of-classroom learning to more students, so if you are interested in registering more than one class for a program, we can see if another LRCA team member is available to lend a hand, or if not, make arrangements with you for the class teachers to run parts of the program.
